JAMES A. MAHON BAYONNE James A. “Sonny” Mahon, 75, passed suddenly on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. James was the son of James and Margaret (Lukac). He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Ann Hoppey and two loving sons, Christopher and his wife Robin and John; cherished grandfather to Avery, Katherine and Hudson James. He is also survived by many other loving and caring family members. James is predeceased by his sister Diana Welter. James graduated from Bayonne H.S. and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a Fund Administrator for Tile Local #7 until retiring in 2000. At the same time he was a Mayoral Aide for the City of Bayonne for the past 30 years and Legislative Aide for Joseph Doria for 20 years. He was member of the Knights of Columbus for 25 years and on the Board of Trustees for B. E. O. F., the Hudson Health System Agency, National Conference of Christians and Jews and the Holy Name Society of St. Andrew Church. The funeral will be conducted from the Dzikowski, Pierce & Levis on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. A 9:45 a.m. Catholic Funeral Mass will be at St. Andrew Church. Friends may their respects to the family on Friday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. on Saturday; Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the “Seeing Eye Foundation”, 10 Valley Road, Morristown, NJ 07963.
