I got to go to The White House yesterday for the first time in my life. Got the passes through my Congressman, which is how you have to do it. Have to request the tickets about 6 months ahead of time. I would highly suggest the trip, the tour itself is quite short, but you get to see things that you would not ordinarily be able to see. You can walk in the East Room where the President holds his press conferences, you can see the State Dining Room, and feel the history of the place. After you leave the White House, you can visit any of the free Smithsonian museums to fill out the rest of the day, so a great trip, on a cheap budget.
